Promotion of optimal diagnosis and therapy of rare lung diseases in childhood and adolescence

In continuation of a longstanding tradition in the Dr. von Hauner Childrens Hospital of the Ludwig Maximilian University Munich in cooperation with the colleagues here and abroad and relevant research support institutions we set the goal to record the long-term course of rase lung diseases, to optimized their diagnosis and therapy, to initiate a quality assurance and to promote clinical-scientific research.  

Therefore the establishment of a central institution - the Kids Lung Register with Biobank - was realized. In 2010 we presented this open and free, web-based instrument for the pediatric pneumology and neonatology practitioner. It can be savely and comfortably accessed from anywhere and each patient can be followed long term. This allows to collect valuable information and biomaterials by all parties and prevents any loss of single cases.
